While Noah's Ark might be of interest to those who need some evidence of an otherwise fantastical story, I think we should be thinking about a new "Ark". The preposterousness of the Noah tale works best as a metaphor-- it loses its power when taken literally. Finding a vessel that was believed to save humanity and the animal kingdom from the wrath of an invisible vengeful god-like being would be like finding the Titanic in a haystack. The tiny vessels being touted as the Ark found in Turkish mountainsides is a diversion at best, an insult to intelligence at worst.
