Well done! I agree with your analysis of Vertigo and would add Rear Window to that list of underrated (yet beloved because of the main actors) among Hitch's efforts. The performance of Raymond Burr from afar and silent for most of the film is genuinely brilliant.

I might add the Sally Fields vehicle Places in the Heart, which I believe is a classic story of redemption and more illlustrative of female grit and determination than her Oscar-winning performance in Norma Rae. The final scene always moves me to tears seeing the circle of life reuniting of Edna's husband and his accidental killer in pews together. That and the performances by Danny Glover and John Malkovich , Ed Harris et al. make this movie one that should be watched over and over to realize its depth. Thanks for an interesting film journey.
