Merry Christmas-love to all?

With that, the former president, disgraced and twice impeached, accused rapist, and self-proclaimed poor sport, wished his fellow countrymen and women his best wishes for the season.
For those of us who share a spirit of goodwill toward all, we wish him better health in the New Year. The man suffers from a mental illness that has him in its grips — a disease he has willfully chosen to spread among his followers. For their part, the season that is imbued with feelings that are so foreign to his nature is infected with loathing for others where love and joy should reside. They suffer with him- for him.
His tweet, if they still call what he does on his Truth Social platform, is wanting in the spirit of Christmas he wishes “To Everyone” in large measure because he is incapable of that. He has wishes for no one but himself-that is his illness. It is one that is the most difficult to cure because, unlike Dickens’ Scrooge, the prognosis is terminal- mental and spiritual decay.
Humbug!
Declaring himself both brilliant and clairvoyant, knowing that bit of braggadocio reveals more than he thinks about him, is a tell-tale sign- a symptom to note. There is no tongue firmly planted in cheek as he tweets this, only a conceit that lays bare his own self-loathing and untreated dementia:

In a holiday spurt filled with feral misanthropy, his tweets expropriate “love”, “peace” and “goodwill” replacing them with venomous rancor. On this holy day, while it is difficult to forgive his behavior, hard to forget his sins, I offer him the faint kindness of understanding offered to Dickens’ Scrooge by young Fred:
“He’s a comical old fellow,” said Scrooge’s nephew, “that’s the truth; and not so pleasant as he might be. However, his offences carry their own punishment, and I have nothing to say against him.”
“I’m sure he is very rich, Fred,” hinted Scrooge’s niece. “At least, you always tell me so.”
“What of that, my dear?” said Scrooge’s nephew. “His wealth is of no use to him. He don’t do any good with it. He don’t make himself comfortable with it. He hasn’t the satisfaction of thinking — ha, ha, ha! — that he is ever going to benefit Us with it.”
